PANTHER INVESTMENT FUND PROVIDES COLLEGE OF BUSINESS STUDENTS WITH REAL- WORLD INVESTMENT EXPERIENCE
Panther Investment Funds was created in 2018 to offer students a unique opportunity to manage real money to develop investment skills as financial analysts and portfolio managers. President Dr. Ruth Simmons jump-started the fund with a $10,000 donation. The fund will be managed by students to invest in security markets under the supervision of advisors. Students will conduct rigorous, research-based security analysis and portfolio evaluation, and present their investment proposals to Fund Advisory Board. The investment goal of the fund is to prioritize capital appreciation and growth. As the fund grows, the distributions of the fund will be used to support the college and its students.
Panther Investment Fund was operated through Prairie View A&M Foundation. The brokerage account is with Ameriprise Financial, Inc.
